If you’re not a fan of Opel’s OPC arm, then you’re most likely not a “car guy” (or “car gal”). Luckily, the GM Authority crew lives, breathes, and dreams cars; and if the car is fast, beautiful, or both –like an OPC — then all the better.
Speaking of which, here are a few facts about OPC:
- It’s an independent subsidiary (a GmbH) of Opel and is responsible for the planning, development, and operation of all motorsport activities for Opel and Vauxhall
- Its managing director is German race car driver Volker Strycek. It’s him that you sometimes see testing the various Opels and GM vehicles on the Nürburgring
- Its German tagline is “Dynamik. Leistung. Pure Passion” — translating into “Dynamic. Performance. Pure Passion”
- Vauxhall calls its versions of OPC models VXR
And that brings us to the trivia question of the week: what does OPC stand for? Now now — no cheating. Don’t even think about opening that Google window! Yes, we’re looking at you! Talk to us in the comments — we’ll update this post with the correct answer at 20:00 EST today. Toodles!
Answer
Opel Performance Centre.
Thanks for playing and not cheating! We’ll be back next Monday with another juicy GM Authority Trivia question.

Hmmm. So tempting to open Google, but for the sake of the game I wont.
I would guess Opel Performance Cars
That sounds about right to me too without looking it up hahah 🙂
I was actually pretty close , though after Alex’s description of OPC I couldnt think of anything other than Performance.
Over Priced Cars ?
Thats what they are!
hahha j/k 🙂
It’s prolly all in German. Opel Purvaishe Cleir-lieben! Just made it all up 🙂
Obviously poopy cars
Opel Performance Cars sounds logical.
Other possibilities:
Opel Performance Class
Opel Performance Corp. (but, I’m guessing Germans use GmbH instead of Corp.)
Less likely possibilities:
Odd Paternity Cases
Ocelot Panther Cats
Ordinary People Cheat 🙂
i guess opel perfomance center 🙂
