Just last week, General Motors announced that the C8 Corvette ZR1 could hit 233 mph, reinforcing the twin-turbo monster’s claim to fame as the fastest production Corvette ever made. Indeed, with a top speed of 233 mph, the new ZR1 is a stupendously quick machine, even amongst the latest and greatest top-shelf supercars currently on the market. With that in mind, we’re taking a quick look at how the 2025 Corvette ZR1 stacks up against the competition.
Listing the specs for the new Corvette ZR1 against those of the competition, we find the top-dog Vette among rarified company. A top speed of 233 mph places it well above the top speed of models like the upcoming Ferrari F80, the Lamborghini Revuelto, and the Aston Martin Valhalla, all of which tout a top speed of 217 mph. Meanwhile, the only models in this list that slot in above the C8 ZR1 are multi-million dollar über-toys like the Rimac Nevera, Bugatti W16 Mistral, and Koenigsegg CC850, all of come with hefty seven-figure price tags.
Putting it all into context, the C8 ZR1 is a hugely impressive machine, offering some serious mph for the money. Although GM has yet to release an official MSRP figure, the majority of GM Authority readers believe the ZR1 will be priced somewhere between $175,000 and $200,000, per a GM Authority poll held this summer. Compare that to the $5.4 million Bugatti W16 Mistral, and well, two-hundred grand looks like a steal.

As for the greasy bits making that 233-mph top speed a reality, the new ZR1 cradles the twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8 LT7 engine as standard, churning out an astounding 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 rpm. It should also be relatively easy to drive, given the 233-mph top speed figure was accomplished by GM President Mark Reuss, rather than some profession racing driver.
As a reminder, all C8 Corvette variants ride on the GM Y2 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

Wish GM had waited ’til they had a price to show adequate compare.
Finally I will not be late for work ever again
After returning from Spring Mountain last week, I got to understand the performance envelope of me and my C8 Z06 (with a big smile on my face). I look forward to doing it again in the ZR1. If I am lucky enough to get one.
What a hard hitting article.
The ZR1 is an impressive masterpiece.
Corvette doesn’t really have any competition on a price verses performance bases. With the available colors and so forth, it’s all a person needs.
