Just wondering if someone has ordered a 2500 HD Silverado LT double cab lately and how long it took?
Thanks -

I had an order for a 2024 Silverado HD LTZ double cab since March of this year. Never heard anything about the build. Several weeks ago I cancelled the order and found one on the lot just like I had ordered.

Ordered a 2023 double cab wt in November 2022, didn’t hear anything until April when the dealer told me they stopped making 23s and started making 24s. Dealer said he already switched my order to a 24 with a different color as they discontinued the color I ordered in 23. By June still had no movement on my order, Dealer told me they are really only accepting crew cabs and trims higher then WT. Switched order to crew cab custom trim 6/15 order was accepted same day. Truck was built 7/23. Had no updates was waiting for shipping. 9/20 dealer called surprised the truck shipped and arrived, he said he didn’t see any updates of the truck shipping. I got a little more truck then I originally wanted but I am very happy with it.

I ordered a 23 GMC 2500 SLT double cab long box the second week of February. Three weeks later was told could not order a 23 had to change to a 24. OK, GMC quit offering the SLT as a double cab. Switched to Chevrolet. Ordered equivalent LTZ, same dealer different brand. Somewhere around July I was no longer able to get an order status on the Chevrolet website. I finally got a “consultant” that dug a little deeper and found out the order had been cancelled. This was in September. Chevrolet said it had to have been cancelled by the dealership, the dealer said it was done by Chevrolet. The order had been cancelled in JULY! Not one word from anyone. I contacted the general manager of the dealership and didn’t care for his excuses or attitude. Have since changed dealerships and am hoping for the best.
Getting information from anyone related to Chevrolet is almost impossible. I’m really close to telling them where to put their truck. So , to reply to the original question, nobody knows when or if the double cab will be built. If GM isn’t going to build what a customer wants it shouldn’t be on the Build and Price site.

This is an update to my double cab order (rant). I decided on a new dealership and placed my order on 11/30/23. The salesman told me he had no idea when they would get an allocation for a double cab and he had another customer that had been waiting 3months ahead of me. We worked out the details and he placed the order. You can imagine my amazement when he called on 12/5 and said they just got an allocation. Luckily for me the other customer gave up and bought a crew cab off the lot. I told him it was still a go and figured the wait would continue. Chevrolet picked up the order and as of 1/5/24 the order status was 3300. scheduled for production.
this really has been a frustrating experience, but persistence seems to have paid off. It looks like it is really going to happen.
My advice is to keep checking with your dealer and the message bot on the build and price site. If you can no longer get status information from Chevrolet then ask for a consultant and push until they dig deeper for you.
