I have a 2022 Sierra SLT and when I start my truck and the radio comes on I can time when the sound will pause for a second or two then come back on. It is just the sound. I was told by a salesman that it was a checkup that Google was doing for the new radio system. i would have believed that but it started out doing it once each time I started my truck. Now that it is a year and half old it is up to cutting out 3 or 4 times at intervals from 15 sec to 1 min and 30 secs. I took it to dealer and they said nothing was wrong with the radio. I was told all 2022 and 2023 GMC trucks do this. Anyone else have this annoyance ?

Been dealing with the same thing on my 2022 AT4X. Only seems to happen when I’m using the radio or built-in google apps. If I use Android Auto, the audio never cuts out.
Every time I get an OTA update I hope it’s going to fix it, but 3 so far have done nothing.

Glad I’m not the only one…

My 23 Sierra DU does the exact same thing. Super annoying.

I have had my truck for about 2 months and this happens only when I start it up. Sometimes 2 times, sometimes 4 times. Doesn’t do it again after that until I turn it off and park. It is annoying. I have checked the updates but the software says it is up to date. Hoping someone can figure this out. Doesn’t make sense that these trucks do this.

Any updates? I brought my 22 Sierra at4 diesel today with this issue. They said they are working on a 22 SLT diesel with the same issue. Radio cuts out 3 times during the first few mins of starting. XM, FM and AM. Doesn’t need to be driving. They replaced other customer’s radio and did s/w update with no sucess. Waiting for a solution.

Not too sure if my 2024 Sierra 3500hd had the same exact issue as those others. Here’s how it was resolved. Day after taking my brand new truck home, started it up and there was no sound coming from the radio. This also affected the sound to the turn signals and other chimes. Everything worked but with no sound. 9 out of 10 times this would happen on start up only. Occasionally, on startup, it would work. Took in for service within the 1st week of ownership and was told needed a software update to the radio. Did that and took it home. Next morning, same thing, no sound. Went back in for service. We said we didn’t want the truck back until fixed. A week in a half later and several more software updates, they figured it out. It was a bad amplifier. Solved the problem and haven’t had another issue since. I hope this helps you out.

The radio on my ’22 Sierra AT4 also cuts out intermittently while driving. Usually only for a second or two but every few minutes. It’s infuriating. I finally brought it into the dealer and they said they could not fix it. GM released a bulletin (#PIT6107B) to their service departments that they are aware of the issue. They suspect the cause may be software anomalies. GM is aware of the issue and is working on a solution. We’ll see how long it takes. I will never buy a GM vehicle again.

My 2022 just started cutting out a few months ago after a year and a half of not doing it. Always cuts out twice just after start up.

My 2024 Silverado ltz cc radio goes out, no blinker noise, Maps periodically won’t open, Lose the Navigation in the HUD periodically. 4 times to the dealership for updates. have taken multiple video’s and sent them. they asked me to bring it in when it was happening, brought it in 10/14/24, while not audio/blinkers and showed them. They are aware and it’s been going on since the 2022 new infotainment. I have PIT6101E in front of me. So many models and years. I took it in to the dealer in the 1st 45 days. Traded 2021 Yukon AT4 Pre google maps system. It worked perfectly, radio, HUD never had a problem. regret purchasing the new truck. also see 23-NA-183

I had put my experience in a post in February of this year. It involved my 2024 GMC Sierra 3500HD SLT. All the same issues as your truck. Couldn’t hear the radio, turn signals, chimes. After many visits and software updates, it was found that the truck was installed with a bad amplifier. Once that was changed, never had an issue again.

My 2023 Sierra does this. Very annoying. What good is over the air update capability if they don’t deliver noticable improvements in functionality for the customer? Good luck getting many people to subscribe to connected services with the track record GM is creating. When I look at other brands with OTA subscriptions they are delivering both fixes and new features.
