National Corvette Hall Of Fame Celebrates 2024 Inductees

The National Corvette Hall of Fame celebrated four individuals that were inducted as its 2024 class in a ceremony on August 31st, 2024, which honored Retiring Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter, Automobile Photographer Richard Prince, and Corvette Racing Drivers Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen.

Starting with the two racecar drivers, Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen had backgrounds in open-wheel racing before transitioning to sports cars. Gavin joined Pratt & Miller for the ALMS endurance races in 2002, while Magnussen was Gavin’s co-driver in the No. 4 Corvette for the 12 Hours of Sebring and the Petit Le Mans each year from 2004-2006. During this span of time, Gavin, Magnussen, and others won the Petit Le Mans twice and Sebring once.

It’s worth noting that Gavin is the winningest driver in Corvette Racing team history, while Magnussen holds 34 wins, including four at Le Mans, four at Sebring, and three at the Petit Le Mans. In fact, both Gavin and Magnussen have combined for eight championships in ALMS and the IMSA SportsCar Championship.

Moving on, Richard Prince has built a 30-year career as a leading automobile photographer. After an early history with Vettes, Prince established a partnership with Corvette Racing that saw him transition into the official photographer of Corvette Racing, capturing the team’s most iconic moments on the track.

Outside of Corvette Racing, Price’s photography has appeared in over 400 publications in more than 80 different countries.

Finally, Tadge Juechter needs little introduction. Appointed as the fifth Corvette Chief Engineer back in 2006, Juechter traces his GM roots back to 1977, where he got his start serving in several different roles, including manufacturing, research and development, vehicle development, and product design. His professional career with the Corvette began in 1993.

To date, Juechter has worked on five Corvette generations, spanning from the Corvette C4 to Corvette C8. Under his watchful eye, Juechter ensured that the Corvette would remain a mainstay during General Motors’ bankruptcy, and paved the development of the mid-engined Corvette C8. Throughout his storied leadership, the Corvette’s world-class reputation has continued to grow.

As a typical Florida Man, Trey is a certified GM nutjob who's obsessed with anything and everything Corvette-related.

  2. This is why over the many years of its existence the Chevy Corvette has been an unqualified success in every field it has entered, from engineering to racing, from design to sales it is an American Icon without any peers. These facts are possible because of people who’ve dedicated themselves over the years to making the Corvette the amazing all American Sports Car it is today. I’m proud to have owned many Corvettes over the years and a current ‘VETTE owner today even though in my mid 70’s I still can enjoy driving my Corvette, with friends and family members, we travel the USA meeting so many wonderful individuals who also enjoy and appreciate either owning a Corvette or a one time owner or just an admirer of these amazing vehicles because once you’ve owned one or more you just never forget the thrill or fun of getting behind the wheel and driving it! It’s a vehicle that just keeps getting better with age!
