Custom 1969 Chevy Camaro Brings Together Top Talent And Supercharged Performance: Video

When a group of elite builders collaborate on a classic 1969 Chevy Camaro, the results are bound to be extraordinary. This particular build, which brings together the expertise of Lopez Performance, Sean Smith Designs, and Gabe’s Custom Interiors, is a prime example of what happens when top talent meets high-performance ambition. Now, thanks to a video recently posted by AutotopiaLA, we’re getting an inside look at this impressive machine.

This particular Chevy Camaro project began as a commission from a client, Junior, and his wife, who wanted a custom Camaro that would stand out in a sea of modified ’69s. The goal was to retain the iconic lines and timeless appeal of the original, all while integrating modern features that would make the car unique and contemporary. To achieve this, big names like Sean Smith Designs and Gabe’s Custom Interiors were brought on board, and the results speak for themselves.

The exterior of the Chevy Camaro is executed with precision and detail. A carbon fiber cowl hood and a one-off grille, the latter of which is composed of 16 individual pieces, set the tone for the build. Carbon fiber also features prominently in the rockers, front splitter, and custom rear spoiler, while the flush-mount glass required extensive metalwork to ensure perfect gaps and alignment. The car sits on Brixton forged wheels with full carbon barrels, staggered at 19 inches in the front and 20 inches in the rear. The paint, a unique shade of gold with high metallic content, took three months to perfect and shifts beautifully in different lighting conditions.

Inside this custom Chevy Camaro, the attention to detail continues with a one-off dashboard that was machined in-house to achieve a perfect fit. This dash integrates modern elements with custom gauges designed by Sean Smith and built by Classic Instruments, plus Lamborghini-inspired switches for various controls. The upholstery features high-quality materials like Alcantara for the headliner and custom leather for the seats, door panels, and other surfaces.

Diving under the hood, the video notes an LS3 V8 making 750 horsepower, but earlier reports suggest that the engine is actually a 427 LSX pushing out a staggering 1,200 horsepower with the help of a 2.9L Whipple supercharger. This powerhouse is showcased in an engine bay that matches the exterior’s gold paint for the supercharger and valve covers, creating a cohesive and striking visual impact – not to mention a punch to the gut when you hit the throttle.

  1. Pretty car. I might have been tempted to do an updated version of the RS grill. Nice job on the interior as well.
