Shortly after the 2024 Chevy Colorado’s official launch in South Korea, General Motors has announced that the initial allocation of the redesigned Chevrolet midsize truck has quickly sold out in the Asian country.
The automaker’s South Korean subsidiary reported that the first batch of new 2024 Chevy Colorado units for that country sold out just one day after the pickup’s local launch, reaffirming the nameplate’s good level of popularity in Korea and customer expectation for the redesigned model. In fact, the initial response to the 2024 Colorado far exceeded GM’s estimated demand and predicts that the truck will be another commercial success.
“The Chevrolet Colorado is a monumental model that pioneered the domestic authentic American pickup truck market and has led the segment for a long time,” said Head of GM Korea’s domestic sales division, Lee Ki-hyun. “All-new Colorado, which has been completely reborn, is also enjoying hot popularity, with its initial stock selling out in just one day of release. We are confident that it will become the new leader in the premium imported pickup truck market,” he added.
GM Korea specifies that the new 2024 Chevy Colorado registered more than 400 pre-orders during the first day of its launch and surpassed the initial stock of units that the company had earmarked for the first months of marketing in the local market. This not only demonstrates the model’s strong positioning, but also the high potential of the imported pickup market in Korea, which currently has an annual volume of more than 1,000 units.
As such, the initial customer response for the 2024 Chevy Colorado in South Korea prompted the automaker to adjust estimates and increase orders to meet the high demand for the model during the second half of the year. In this regard, the Chevrolet Korea team has pledged to actively communicate with its North American headquarters to request additional supplies of 2024 Colorado units for the country.
The new 2024 Chevy Colorado is offered in South Korea exclusively in the off-road capable Z71 trim, which represents the only version of the truck available in the country with an optional package called Z71-X. As such, 2024 Colorado units for the South Korean market come standard with a full range of technology, safety and comfort features aimed at meeting the needs of adventurous customers with active lifestyles.

Smart move on Chevy to offer this in Korea.
It doesn’t seem like there are a ton of options for customers beyond some work trucks, the Santa Cruz, and a small /dated KGM (fka Ssangyong) pickup.
It looks like the upcoming Kia Tasman will give Chevy a run for its money but Kia is untested in the truck segment so who knows if it will need another generation for it to be truly the one to beat.
Fender flares on a Z71. Why can’t we get this in the US? I swear US auto makers hate their customers and thus decide we only get lame options on the lower end models.
Because they look tacky and most don’t like them. They fade in the sun, make the wheels look too far tucked in and hide and trap debris. You can find them on any accessory website if you want them, but for most if they don’t want them they shouldn’t put them on. Those that do can easily add them after the fact.
You can. I have a 23 colorado z71. It came with every option available which included factory fender flares. They look awesome on the truck.
How many units were in this first batch to sellout? Dealers in my area are having a continued hard time getting them. BTW, we have a deal in progress on a 2024 XT4 that has been “In Transit “ from the KC (?) area assembly plant to the Memphis dealer for over a month. In fact, yesterday they had 16 2024’s in transit with 2025 model production due to begin tomorrow I believe. Is there still a big issue with truck drivers?
Don’t worry, It’s only 400 units.
This is my Favorite truck 😍
But we can use this این my country 😔
