The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado represents the second model year for the midsize pickup truck’s third generation, for which it receives several minor changes headlined by the addition of the Colorado ZR2 Bison package to the lineup.
These changes follow the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado, which received a complete overhaul (re-engineering and redesign) for the nameplate’s third generation.

The 2024 Colorado sees minor changes, including the discontination of the Turbo Plus engine tune and the replacement of the Desert Boss Special Edition with the Colorado ZR2 Bison.

Powertrain
The 2024 Chevy Colorado offers two engines – the Turbo 2.7L I4 L2R and the Turbo High-Output 2.7L I4 L3B. The Turbo High-Output 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine is rebranded as TurboMax. Note that the mid-level Turbo Plus tune of the L3B is deleted for the 2024 model year.

All tunes of the engine are mated to the second-generation GM 8-speed automatic transmission, with an automatic engine stop-start system.
Four-wheel-drive models offer a two-speed auto transfer case, while the ZR2 features driver-selectable electronic locking front and rear differentials.

Production
The 2024 Colorado continues to be assembled at the GM Wentzville factory in Missouri by GM USA. Production began in December 2023 and ended in October 2024.

Platform
The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado rides on a second-gen GM 31XX platform, known as 31XX-2, which it shares with its corporate cousin, the 2024 GMC Canyon. The platform has been updated for the third-gen Colorado.
Seating
The 2024 Colorado is offered in one seating configuration. This setup features two front bucket seats (providing seating for two), along with a bench seat in the second row (seating three), resulting in a 2-3 layout.
Beyond 2024
We expect that the current, third-generation Colorado will remain in production at least thru the 2028 model year. A mid-cycle refresh is expected for the 2026 model year.
