Buick Grand National Co-Stars In Jordan Sneaker Ad: Video

The Buick Grand National co-stars alongside NBA star Luka Doncic in a new advertisement for the Luka 3 Jordan basketball shoes. The ad is about 25 seconds long and has gained a good deal of attention on social media. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Doncic behind the wheel of a GM vehicle, with the Mavs guard recently turning heads in April after showing up in a custom-wrapped 1968 Chevy Camaro.

The wheel of a Buick Grand National in a new Jordan sneaker ad.

In the new advertisement, we see a wide, open basketball court, which appears to be on an airfield. The black Buick Grand National suddenly appears on screen, tires squealing as the driver wheels the vehicle aggressively. A close-up of the wheel shows the smoking tire, followed by a quick cut to the driver shifting the automatic transmission and a close-up of the gauges as the engine revs. We then see Doncic in the driver’s seat as he turns the steering wheel.

As the Buick Grand National slides across the court, it leaves a set of black tire marks across the pavement some distance away from the hoop. These lines apparently mark the “6-Pt. Line.” Doncic exits the Buick wearing the new Jordan sneakers, basketball in his hands, and after dribbling a few times, we see him sink a shot from behind the six-point line.

The new Luka 3 “Photo Finish” Jordan sneakers are priced at $130 and include a white finish with a splash of turquoise, pink, and yellow on the sides.

Back in April, Doncic arrived at an NBA game behind the wheel of a custom-wrapped 1968 Chevy Camaro, which also included an array of eye-catching colors, with pinks and purples swirling across the body panels. The Jordan sneakers logo was featured prominently, and the Camaro garnered quite a bit of attention from sneaker enthusiasts.

  1. I miss coupes. Started with a cheap nova in college, then a Monte first car out of college, then a T-Bird SC. I still have a vette, but not the same as a large coupe. I get it, they are not coming back as no demand, but I still miss them. I’ll never make it to what was going to be the pinnacle for me, a eldo, riva or toronado. They will never make something like that today.

  2. Me too! Long road for me with a 77 Cutlass Supreme, 79 Coupe DeVille (D’Elegance version) 84 Chrysler Laser. How ‘bout this…. my driveway queen 1991 Buick Reatta coupe- just two seats. It’s awesome and fun! Nowadays for everyday fun it’s a Cascada…. an amazingly enjoyable convertible – but only 2 long doors. Friend, get the Riv/Eldo/Toro if you can….for me I love them all, 1965 and up, but one of those little early 90’s Biarritz or Trofeo models, or that beautiful jelly bean awesome mid 90’s Riviera. Keep the coupe dream alive!

  3. Not an MJ, NBA, nor Buick fan (respect to GN, though), but that is a cool ad, I must admit.
