General Motors has just announced the start of the ‘GM Immersion Week’ promotional event this week in South Korea.
The automaker’s South Korean subsidiary announced the premiere of the GM Immersion Week promotional event, which began this week to promote the recently introduced Chevy Trax and the refreshed Chevy Trailblazer as Chevrolet‘s most representative domestically manufactured products in the Asian country. This initiative will allow customers to experience the models at exhibition stands installed in eight branches of the Costco store chain in Korea.
“In order to further expand the product experience of domestic customers, we held an exhibition event through collaboration with Costco, an American grocery store with many visitors,” said Chief Marketing Officer of GM Korea, Myongok Yoon. “Through this opportunity, many customers can look forward to experiencing Chevrolet’s models, which are receiving the best reviews in overseas markets, and even being lucky enough to win generous prizes,” she said.
In particular, the GM Immersion Week marketing event began this Monday, May 20th at the Costco branch in the South Korean city of Daegu and will take place for eight weeks in different cities around the country until Sunday, July 14th, when the last event will end at the Costco store in Daejeon. In total, Chevrolet stands will be installed in eight Costco locations in South Korea and will last one week per store.
Customers participating in GM Immersion Week will have the opportunity to win generous prizes, including a 2025 Chevy Trax Redline through a drawing among those who visit the booth and request to participate in the event. A five-year Costco membership worth 200,000 won (about $147 USD at current exchange rates) annually will also be provided to everyone who completes a vehicle purchase on-site, while a one-year Costco membership will be offered to those who request a quote and book a test drive.
The GM Immersion Week promotional event has just begun and will run for the next eight weeks in several South Korean cities, where the strategy was established to expand customer experience opportunities to see and feel Chevrolet vehicles in person. GM Korea says that the event’s 2025 Chevy Trax Redline drawing will be held in July after the latest edition of this marketing initiative ends.

I could use a five-year Costco membership in exchange for a test ride. The only problem is that I live in the United States. As with Hybrid availability, GM has left the USA out to dry on nearly everything but big trucks. Every time I look at my 2018 Chevy sitting in the garage, I wonder if it will be my last in a nearly 50-year string of Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn ownership. I just don’t get it.
GM and virtually every other automaker got rid of affordable sedans, my vehicle of choice, and treated me like garbage when I was seriously looking to purchase a new vehicle last year and earlier this year. No, I don’t want nitrogen in the tires or a wheel warranty or a service contract. The doc fee is a ripoff. That’s why you see so many older vehicles still on the road. Many customers like myself are tired of being ripped off by dealers.
