On April 27th, 2024, a Toyota won the Xfinity Series race at Dover Motor Speedway, even though a pair of NASCAR Chevy teams made a valiant effort for the win.
Carson Kvapil, driver of the No. 88 Chevy Camaro SS, restarted on the front row next to Ryan Truex, driver of the No. 20 Toyota TRD Supra, right up front for a NASCAR Overtime finish. However, when a wreck unfolded behind the leaders, the field was frozen under a yellow flag with Truex out in front, relegating Kvapil to a second-place result. Even so, the 20-year-old NASCAR Chevy driver was pleased with his performance and hopes that it’ll set the tone for future winning endeavors.
“This is pretty incredible,” Kvapil said. “Definitely felt like we had a fast car going into the day, but to be competing for the win on a green-white-checkered is pretty amazing. We’ve been in this situation before, just not quite at this level.”
Meanwhile, Austin Hill, driver of the No. 21 NASCAR Chevy Camaro, looked like he would be the one to beat. He and Sheldon Creed, driver of the No. 18 Supra, banged doors on a late-race restart, but while they were locked in battle, Kvapil was able to get by for second. Hill finished 15th.
Sam Mayer finished third in the No. 1 Camaro, followed by Sheldon Creed’s No. 18 Camry and Cole Custer’s No. 00 Ford Mustang Dark Horse rounding out the top five.

Ok…so how does “Win on Sunday. Sell on Monday” apply anymore?
What cars in that field can one go buy at the dealership?
