The 2025 Buick Envista drops in as the second model year for the first-generation of the North American-spec crossover, debuting only a few changes over the initial 2024 model year. Interestingly, GM Authority has learned that the 2025 Buick Envista will also debut a new E85- compatible engine, making it a flex-fuel capable vehicle. Critically, the 2025 Envista will only offer flex-fuel capability in the U.S., while in Canada, the 2025 Envista will not be flex-fuel capable.
According to GM Authority sources, the 2025 Buick Envista will be equipped as standard with the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP gasoline engine. Also found under the hood of the U.S.-spec 2025 Buick Encore GX, 2025 Chevy Trax, and 2025 Chevy Trailblazer, the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP will replace the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LIH gasoline engine offered previously for the 2024 model year. While horsepower and torque figures will remain identical between the two engines at 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, the turbocharged 1.2L I3 LBP engine will offer E85 compatibility.
For those readers who may be unaware, E85 is a high-ethanol-content fuel composed of 51 to 83 percent ethanol. This is a substantially higher ethanol content than “regular” gasoline, the latter of which typically contains 10 percent ethanol. Vehicles with E85 compatibility are known as flex fuel vehicles, and are becoming more and more commonplace throughout the U.S. This is particularly the case in the Midwest, where corn provides a source for ethanol production.
E85 offers a few notable benefits over regular gasoline, including a higher resistance to engine knock, as well as a reduction in foreign oil dependence. That said, E85 fuel can also decrease vehicle fuel economy, and even be problematic in cold weather. To note, E85 fuel is not recommended for vehicles that do not have flex-fuel capabilities.
Under the skin, the Buick Envista rides on the GM VSS-F platform. Production of the 2025 Buick Envista is scheduled to begin at the GM Bupyeong plant in South Korea this coming May, per a GM Authority exclusive.

So what? Without a rear window wiper/washer, it’s a non-starter.
I honestly like the new front end on Buicks it could be worse that grill could be chrome then it would look like it belongs on a big rig. As far as E85 I don’t see many in NJ by me .
The grille is chrome on the Preferred and I like it better. Has horizontal chrome bars. None of us see any/many on the East Coast because they come into California from S Korea and all get spoken for before they cross the Mississippi. Haven’t seen a single Trax yet either. Have only seen a half dozen Trailblazers ever, but, strangely, a ton of GXs.
Beachy I have seen a few Chevy Trax by me in the northeast, I guess people feel for a little more money the GX with the better interior is a better buy we’ll see how well this invista does. Hopefully it sells well
Went car shopping with my mom and dad in Baton Rouge. Saw not a single Traxx on two Chevy dealerships. Saw 3 trailblazers on one of the dealerships. I’m not sure if they aren’t getting any, or if they are quickly selling. One of the Buick dealers had about 6 Encore Gx’s, the other had none. Lots of Envisions at both Buick dealers. Incidently, Mom liked the trailblazer and Encore Gx, leaning toward the Encore. Not considering foreign brands.
At least the foreign brands would be built in the USA.
Yes but the money the big pot does not stay in the American economy, workers getting paid to assemble a car is a very small part of the business, I would rather spend my money GM thank you.
Hmm, in my town those “foreign brands” just built a multi billion $ factory, upgraded our rail head, and are spawning dozens of supply businesses for said factory. Where I’m from in Ohio? Yeah, GM was there and now they aren’t. You act as if the “foreign brands” haven’t been investing in America for decades, while GM shutters plant after plant, in favor of China. GM is STILL the only brand bring finished vehicles from that communist hellscape. The GM you grew up with, is most definitely NOT Mary’s GM. She is literally showing them his to mass produce items of war, that will ultimately be used against Taiwan. Time to sit up and pay attention, friend.
You do realize the Encore is made in S. Korea, don’t you?
Yes but Korea is an alliance with US… China I don’t trust. Besides there’s Korean cars here already.
Allen I to never even think of the foreign brands I have liked the last three GM products I have owned and our current 2019 Enclave and 2020 Equinox… would I buy GM again yes and no I don’t care that some gm cars are assembled in China or Korea!
