Just last month, GM Authority reported that Buick inventory levels in October 2023 jumped significantly from September 2023 levels, up a whopping 31 percent to a 107 days supply. Now, it appears as though inventory levels of the Tri-Shield brand remained very high in November 2023.
According to a report from Cox Automotive, Buick inventory levels stood at 106 days of supply as of November 2023. This means that at the current sales pace, there is currently enough inventory on dealership lots to last for 106 days. For reference, a 60 days supply figure is considered optimal across the industry. In addition, Buick posted the highest levels of inventory of all of General Motors’ U.S.-market brands, where Cadillac, Chevy, and GMC stood at 61, 71, and 73 days of supply, respectively. Meanwhile, the industry average was 71 days.
It’s worth noting that these figures are related to the U.S. market.
This is an interesting development considering the widespread impact the 2023 UAW strike had across the automotive industry, particularly on the Big Three. Despite the strike lasting almost two months and affecting several GM plants across the United States – including the GM Lansing Delta Township plant in Michigan that produces the Buick Enclave – Buick dealers currently have no problem filling customer orders for vehicles due to the excess inventory.
To that point, General Motors is taking steps to reign in the surplus stockpile across all its U.S. market brands. As GM Authority has been extensively covering, The General has scheduled an extra week of downtime following the holiday break across many of its U.S. facilities for maintenance projects. While the intention may not be entirely focused on reducing supply, decreased production output will have an indirect consequence to help lower supply figures in the coming future.

Just a thought Mary,,possibly Americans don’t want they’re car’s made in a communist country
Inventory is high because dealers are dropping Buick because of their electric push.
Where’s the diversity in an all S(YOU)V line-up, Mary?
Well if you look at the inventory you will see almost all the Enclaves are to top end models and not the ones people want to buy and can afford. That being said its buick people who are building the wrong cars people want..!!!!
Doesn’t help that they have axed a ton of dealers either.
Maybe they should get the girls out of there.
Maybe if Buick had something to buy other than SUVs, there’d be more interest. Buick used to make some of the most beautiful automobiles ever. Why not come out with a new Riviera? I think the electric Electra EV is a fabulous idea too, but it will probably never reach fruition.
I do agree 👍 There were quite a few nice Buicks the regal the Vernano all very nice miss them
Bring back Pontiac
