Arkansas Police Take Out Chevy Malibu In Residential Area Chase: Video

We here at GM Authority have covered quite a few exciting police chases over the years, but this particular video stands out as the only police chase in recent memory where officers pursued two suspect vehicles simultaneously. The two vehicles in question include a Chevy Malibu and a Jeep Grand Cherokee, both of which attempted to flee through a residential neighborhood, with the Jeep even attempting to run defense for the Chevy. As one might expect, the outcome is an arrest.

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of October 9th, 2023, around 3:00 a.m. near Little Rock, Arkansas. As the video gets under way, we see a police officer join the pursuit of two vehicles, including the Chevy Malibu and Jeep SUV. The trooper weaves around a few other police vehicles before taking lead in pursuit of the Chevy Malibu. Suddenly, the white Jeep looms into view, blocking the pursuing officers.

The Jeep slams on the brakes and dives onto an adjacent side street at a T-intersection, and the lead officer once again gives chase to follow the Chevy Malibu as a few other police officers break off to chase the SUV. The Chevy Malibu then makes a quick right turn, forcing the pursuing officer to brake heavily in order to make the corner.

As the Chevy Malibu races through the residential streets, we see the white Jeep approach at high speed from the right, braking heavily to avoid colliding with the Chevy and pursuing officers. Luckily, the Jeep manages to stop in time, narrowly missing the other vehicles.

The chase continues, and according to the video transcript, speeds reached over 70 mph on the tight, narrow roads. The Chevy Malibu is eventually disabled after the pursuing officer pushes it with the front of their vehicle.
