Sometimes you just gotta sit back and wonder what the heck is going through someone’s mind and how they might rationalize whatever insane thing it is that they’re doing. Such is the case with this brief video recently posted to social media, which shows a Chevy Silverado rolling down the freeway on just three wheels.
The video is only a few seconds long, and not much info or background is provided. However, the basics are pretty straightforward. The video looks as though it was captured by a nearby motorist, who spotted the Chevy Silverado headed down what appears to be Interstate 210 in Southern California. SoCal has had an unusual stretch of cold weather and precipitation lately, and as we can see in the video, the streets are soaked and rain is falling. A good amount of traffic can be seen on the freeway in the video.
Cruising along in one of the center lanes, we see a Chevy Silverado pickup truck bouncing down the freeway, its rear suspension hanging down low. The driver’s side rear wheel is missing, with the rear brakes slapping against the pavement. The passenger side rear tire is cambered out as the rear axle is dragged forward.
The truck looks tricky to control as it twitches around on the slippery, wet roads with every bump and undulation. Obviously, the truck is nowhere near safe to drive, but the driver isn’t helping the situation by driving in one of the center lanes without their hazards flashing. I suppose we should at least be thankful the driver isn’t speeding and slicing through traffic.
The question remains – what the heck is this Chevy Silverado driver thinking? What is so important that they have to drive down the freeway with only three wheels, putting themselves and the motoring public at risk? What sort of damage will be incurred by this stunt?

10:1, the truck is either stolen, the occupants are not familiar with US Law or it is a combination of the two.
I’d say they’re very familiar with US law and know what would happen to them if they were to pull over and the cops showed up.
Actually it is going pretty amazing well considering. Not that I would recommend this but most would near keep it the lane let alone at that speed.
IF JOEY CHITTWOOD WAS STILL AROUND HE’D PROBABLY GET HIRED……………..
Made possible by the Eaton G80 Gov-Loc differential.
A very long time ago (1960’s), the TV show Candid Camera did something similar. With a ton of weight in the trunk used as ballast, one front tire was removed where the one side stayed level. The front drum brake never touch the ground. It was driven around on local streets and would park where a pedestrian would walk up to the vehicle and talk to the driver in amazement that they lost a wheel. It was one of their best skits.
GM Supply Constraint?
Note, brake lights go on in video clip. Maybe guy wants to get over but it too shook to use turn signal? And guy taking the video is too close to let him? Or maybe driver is just rocking out or sending a text too engrossed to notice?
Stupid is as stupid does.
Waiting on a GM retrofit.
Maybe Citroen designed the Chevy’s suspension lol
