OBS Chevy Pickup Rendered With Tinted Carbon Fiber Body

Produced between 1988 and 1998, the OBS (“Old Body Style”) Chevy pickup is really coming into its own among enthusiasts these days, offering a classic, squared-off design (albeit less square than previous Chevy pickup models), tough steel construction, and the sort of rugged dependability one would expect from a Bow Tie brand truck. Now, one digital artist has rendered an OBS Chevrolet with a wild new tinted carbon fiber body.

Coming to us from Instagram user @abimelecdesign, this new rendering transforms the OBS Chevy pickup with a heavy dose of sporting intention and aggressive styling, adding a slick composite weave to the truck’s simple, straight lines. The closer you look, the more detail that pops out, with the combination of blue and black for the body panels adding a new layer of technicality to the aesthetic. Finished with a semi-gloss coat, the final product is definitely unique.

In addition to the new composite body panels, this OBS Chevy pickup rendering also sports a deeper front air dam, which appears to be made from non-tinted carbon fiber. Up top is a custom hood, while larger C10 wheels with a simple black finish keep the look nice and clean.

Finishing it off is a set of custom LED tail lamps and a raised bed. The tan interior also appears to come with a rollcage, adding even more sportiness to the equation.

“I’ve been meaning to experiment with colored carbon fiber textures for a while and finally got around to it,” the artist writes in the recent social media post. “I didn’t want to make a super car, so I though this OBS would be perfect.”

“The price to do this in real life would probably exceed the truck’s price over and over and over multiple times,” the artist adds. “But hey, that’s what these renders are for!”

Tinted Carbon bodied Chevy OBS? That’s right! I’ve been meaning to experiment with colored carbon fiber textures for a while and finally got around to it. I didn’t want to make a super car, So I thought this OBS would be perfect. Other custom bits are the the (bigger) C10 wheels, custom LED tails, deeper front air dam, custom hood, raised bed, rear roll pan, and roll cage. The price to do this in real life would probably exceed the truck’s price over and over and over multiple times 🤣 but hey, that’s what these renders are for! Getting a peek at something that could be. Have a great day people! ✌️ . . . . . . . . #chevrolet #silverado #obs #oldbodystyle #old #body #style #pickup #truck #tinted #carbon #led #lights #custom #lowered #3d #rendering
