It’s becoming increasingly difficult to find a regular V8-powered VF Commodore, especially a VF ute, and now Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) is telling buyers to act quickly.
An HSV spokesperson told Motor in a report published last Tuesday that there are only a few hundred Commodore-based cars left and the company expects them to sell out around April. The models include GTS and GTSR vehicles and entry-level Clubsport and Maloo models. Fewer than 40 Senator Signatures remain as well.
HSV has experienced a surge in demand recently, which led to the April sell-out timeframe. “We began runout in February last year and saw a massive spike in sales at that point,” HSV’s product and marketing manager, Damon Paull, said.
He said HSV produced 10 to 12 percent more cars in 2017, however, which left more vehicles to fill the expected demand as local production of the Holden Commodore wrapped up last October.
And if you had to ask, no, there aren’t any GTSR W1 models left for sale.
