Europe, there are two new taxi choices ready for cabbies. Opel revealed the Insignia taxi in Country Tourer (raised wagon) and Sports Tourer (wagon) body styles.
Finished in the classic ivory yellow hue, the Insignia taxis offers superb cargo space with a maximum of 59 cubic feet. Drivers aren’t left wanting for comfort, either with the Taxi Dynamic variant that offers Opel’s AGR (Campaign for Healthy Backs) front seats and an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.
The basic taxi equipment costs €1,790 ($2,107) and includes a taxi alarm system, electrical connections for the taximeter and roof sign, an on and off switch for the roof sign, power supply for the radio as well as protective foil on the door and boot sills. The complete packages start at €22,639 ($26,655) and jump to €26,046 ($30,666) for the Dynamic package with more standard equipment.
Both taxis join the Opel Vivaro and Zafira as potential cabbies and are on sale now.
