Let’s be upfront about this: street racing on public roads is not a good idea. Evidence? This incident.
According to Motor1, the driver of this C6 Corvette was racing a Jaguar F-Pace in Bucharest, Romania, when things went awry. While the Jaguar driver spotted a difficult corner ahead, the Corvette driver kept speed, crashed, and wrecked onto the train tracks.
Clearly, it was a massive impact to deploy the airbags, rip the bumper off and crack the windshield in one foul swoop. The report states the train tracks themselves were damaged and ripped up as the Corvette did its best train impression on the tracks. Thankfully, the driver wasn’t terribly injured and reportedly exited the vehicle safely.
We don’t know what happened after the incident, but we have a feeling the driver won’t be driving much, if at all, in the coming years.
