Every single time a driver climbs into a car for a track day, there’s always the risk of a wreck. This time, though, it seems a miscalculation of a corner caused a horrendous crash.
The driver of this Opel Astra seems to completely misjudge a sharp corner at the famed Nüburgring Nordschleife and bounces off the barrier at high speed. This sends the Astra into a barrel roll before the rear end meets the other side of the track and the car once again bounces off the barrier.
It’s a nasty crash, but the driver does exit the Opel with his own strength. A handful of other drivers also pull over to ensure the driver is OK.
The driver was taken to the hospital for observation, but it looks like he walked away fairly unscathed. Have a look at the crash up above.

Great demonstration of the structural integrity of modern, small cars. The driver “cell” was uncompromised as he was able to open the door (frame not twisted to hell) and step out. Glad he’s ok.
