Jump In For A Ride In The ‘Ghostbusters’ Ecto-1: Video

In two days, the world will know if it was either an excellent, or awful, idea to resurrect Ghostbusters from the film graveyard. But, in the meantime, Carfection is here to give you another look at the new ghost busting vehicle of choice: the Ecto-1.

This time around, the Ecto-1 is based on a 1982 Cadillac Fleetwood hearse, featuring a 5.0-liter V8 engine and slushy four-speed automatic. The film crew stated they wanted a similar vibe from the original Ecto-1, along the lines of coming into the vehicle. Knowing the film takes place during modern day, the 1980s seemed perfect to pull the Ecto-1 from.

The video takes viewers for a cruise around London, England, as the Ecto-1 turns more heads than a supercar prowling the streets. Check it out for yourself up above.

  1. So someone must of swapped the engine out since for 82 you would of normely had either the V8-6-4 which was used in limos and other fleet and livery vehicles, or the anemic 4.1HT.

My very first car was a 84 Fleetwood Coupe RWD bought in 1996. Best car I ever had and so so wish I still had it.
