GM’s Holden Recalls JG Cruze Diesel Over Potential Fretting Corrosion Of ECM Wiring Connector

General Motors’s Australian subsidiary, Holden, is recalling certain models of the JG Cruze 2.0L Diesel over a potential fretting corrosion issue with the Engine Control Module (ECM).

The defect: a condition has been identified whereby, over an extended period of time, fretting corrosion may develop in a wiring connector at the Engine Control Module (ECM).

The hazards: the vehicle’s engine may stall either while stationary or while driving at low speed. This may pose an increased accident and injury risk.

Affected vehicles:

  • 2010 Holden JG Cruze fitted with 2.0L Diesel Engine
  • Affected VIN Range: KL3JA69RJAK501774 to KL3JF69RJAK774710
  • Affected Production Dates: February 26, 2009 to February 22, 2011

Number of vehicles affected: not specified.
