Hennessey Performance Engineering really knows how to take cars we’re already crazy about and make them even better. Take, for instance, this 2016 Chevrolet C7 Corvette Z06. Off the showroom floor it’s a breath-taking machine, but once it’s fitted with Hennessey’s HPE1000 package it’s, dare we say, exotic.
After you’ve clicked play in the video, you’ll get to hear and see the Z06‘s dyno run repeatedly from different angles; no, it doesn’t get boring. If anything, you will be hitting replay to see and hear it all again. The roar of the LT4 V8 is simply satisfying, and the Laguna Blue Tintcoat finish looks sharp.
The final numbers are 849.35 rear-wheel horsepower and 711.30 rear-wheel torque, or 1000bhp at 6,300 rpm. In other words — one hell of a Corvette.

Now this is something C7 Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter needs to consider if anything is deserving to use the Corvette ZR1 moniker.
