2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Takes To The Nürburgring For Further Testing: Video

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is back. After having a minor spill awhile back, the latest footage shows the upcoming Z/28 back and carving corners once again on the Nürburgring.

And it still doesn’t sound supercharged. We hear no whining here, just a naturally-aspirated burble. As the 2018 Camaro Z/28 mule powers out of corners, it doesn’t rocket forward quite like a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, leading us to speculate against forced induction of any sort.

However, all the standard aero bits are here and in tact once again, likely providing gobs of downforce for the car.

This latest video follows sightings of the 2017 Camaro ZL1 at the Nürburgring, too, where the Camaro team is taking the time to further hone the vehicle this summer before it reaches showrooms later this year. As for the Camaro Z/28? It looks to still have a ways to go.

  1. It almost sounds like they might use the same 7.0 V8 from the last Z28 judging by the sound

  2. Chevrolet does testing to refine the Camaro’s suspension so they have a world class sports coupe; but if you look at sales numbers between Ford’s Mustang and the Camaro, it doesn’t seem to matter to the public because people are still prefer the Mustang over the Camaro with April 2016 sales 12,726 for the Mustang and 7,457 for the Camaro.

    1. The rental agencies prefer Mustangs too, which definitely adds to the lead. Take those fleet sales away and the private sales are much closer. The Camaro has not yet hit that market on a large scale and may not because that is not the route Chevy is taking anymore. If there is any GM vehicle of mass quantity for the rental lots it will probably be the Cascada to serve the convertible roll. For now though go to any sunny and warm locale and you will see Mustangs with bar codes all over the place. But then again, this is a story about what will be a glorious sports car. Other than GM and maybe not, who honestly cares whether the Mustang sells more than the Camaro. Other than the so called visibility issue of which I’ve had no problem with the Camaro is a better car in every way.

    2. Well that will soon change here soon as it did with the 5th gen as supplies grow and pricing is more flexible.

Right now supplier have been tight with the slow start up in December and the pricing at dealer where they have not been flexible with limited supplies.

      1. If the build quality is so bad in the Camaro then why is GM warranting the Camaro under track conditions and Ford, well, you will be ponying up big bucks to watch that engine blow on track day.

    3. Read the entire article below with the graph.First off almost half of the Mustangs V6 sales are to rental fleets also even with those rental fleet numbers from the past the Mustang has not been preferred over the Camaro until 2015 with it’s all new release. From 2009 through 2014 the Camaro out sold the Mustang. Most think the reason the Mustang is ahead of the Camaro in 2016 is because the Mustang is celebrating 50 years with incentives along with special 50 year Mustang models. As of June the Camaro doubled it’s May output and is moving back up the ladder. Sales to joe public are about equal this year between the Camaro and Mustang while the rentals put Mustang ahead.

  3. I hope there’s HID lights on this car as an option.

Like the fact that there are a few Cadillacs (Vs) in the video pushing as hard like the Z28.

  4. Look at the monster tires on this 2018 Z/28, they look bigger than even the 2015 Z/28’s 305/30ZR19’s or maybe they have staggered the setup now with the same 305’s up from but with a 325 or even 335 on the rear. Watch the very first shot as it’s coming towards the camera! The rears do look wider than the fronts.
