2016 is proving to be a disruptive year regarding the automobile. General Motors has launched Maven, its personal mobility service, Volkswagen continues to struggle through its diesel emissions scandal and we’re living through an enthusiast golden age of performance.
Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann highlights all of these topics in the latest interview with Bloomberg. Neumann remains enthusiastic about the Opel GT concept, and states there is a lot of excitement within GM surrounding the concept. Still, mum is the word on an actual business case to bring the vehicle to life.
Neumann also discusses the industry at large, touching on what the Volkswagen emissions scandal means not only for Opel, but for the entire industry, stating “it’s not good for anybody.” Ditto regarding the possible exit of Britain from the European Union, as Neumann states he is hopeful the country is able to remain a part of the union.
