General Motors India inaugurated two new Chevrolet dealerships in the state of Karnataka on December 31st, 2015. Located in the cities of Mangalore and Udipi, both of the stores are called Vibrant Chevrolet. Both are what GM calls “3S facilities”, meaning that they integrate sales, service and spares (parts). General Motors solely markets its Chevrolet brand in India.
The inauguration increases the automaker’s reach to 12 sales outlets and 14 service facilities in Karnataka, bringing GM India’s reach to 219 Sales Points and 248 Service outlets across the country. The inauguration bucks the trend of the automaker’s rapid loss of dealer outlets in the country.
In a statement, GM India said: “We have opened the two new dealerships in the wake of the increasing popularity of Chevrolet vehicles in Karnataka. The facilities will be headed by Mr. Mithun Chowter and Mr. Arun Mendes, who are recognized as prominent business leaders with strong credentials in the state. We are confident that under his able leadership and guidance, the dealership will set new benchmark in sales, service and customer satisfaction”.
