Opel Astra Hops A Curb, Takes Flight And Wrecks Into Chevy Spark: Video

Disclaimer: some may find the video posted here disturbing, as it looks as if the driver of this Opel Astra may have been ejected from the vehicle around the 00:26 mark. View at your own will.

We’re unsure how, or why the driver of this old Opel Astra was driving at such a high rate of speed, but it’s easy to see the car was uncontrollable as soon as an attempt to turn the wheel occurs, and the Astra begins to skid.

Following the skid, the Astra jumps a curb, and happens to nail it just right, causing the car to rotate nearly 180-degrees in the air before striking a poll and a Chevy Spark. It’s certainly not a pretty site.

All we have is the video footage seen here, with no explanation as to what actually happened to cause this crash. We can only hope the driver and anyone else involved is okay.

  2. A “high rate of speed” is acceleration. You should just write “high speed”.

  3. That’s NOT a chevy spark. That’s a 2000-2005 M150 Daewoo Matiz/Chevy Lechi. Normally I would not be so anal, but I owned one; a both terrible and excellent little car, that I still kinda miss.

    1. Disregard, After looking around on the interwebs, I guess they were called Sparks in some markets.
