You know when you were you a kid, and you drank too much soda or ate too much candy and you got all jittery and excited? Well, you can see the same effect if you show an office full of car-obsessed writers a video featuring an 800 horsepower, Procharged Oldsmobile Cutlass with AWD taking on a Procharged Jeep SRT-8Â that also has 800 horsepower (and AWD).
The Cutlass is powered by an LS2 from Lingenfelter Performance, which has been stroked to a 6.6 liter displacement and is fitted with a new F1-A Procharger that pushes out 20 pounds of boost. The same exact Procharger is installed on the SRT-8, pushing almost the same amount of boost at 19 lbs.
The car was built with all GM parts, including the Frankenstein front suspension setup with parts from an Oldsmobile Bravada and Chevrolet Trailblazer SS. Why the switch to AWD? First and foremost, because it’s freakin’ awesome. Secondly, because the driver was tired of paying catchup with his friends Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution every time they raced.
But is it enough to take on the Jeep SRT-8? Watch the video below to find out.
