1958 C1 Corvette Sees An LS7 Swap Courtesy Of Late Model Racecraft: Video

Normally, most C1 Corvettes we encounter are gorgeous, timeless vehicles with pretty lines. When we think of a monster-angry restomod, a 1958 Corvette doesn’t exactly come to mind. This 1958 aims to change our minds, though. And with a name like Late Model Racecraft attached to this build, it’s already in the process.

Actually, scratch that, it has changed out minds.

Late Model Racecraft has taken this 1958 Corvette from ordinary to extraordinary by dropping in an LS7 V8 engine. But this hasn’t remained a sleeper, LMR has completely reworked the exterior to match the spirited powertrain. A matte-black exterior paint job adorns the 1958 Corvette and, notably, the normally toothy grille has been swapped for a mesh one.

But we could take about exterior styling forever, with an endless amount of words for how great this car looks. Let’s talk about power, though.

That LS7 crate engine has done its job here. After hitting the dyno, the 1958 Corvette is putting out a healthy 475 hp and 464 lb-ft of torque. And we only wish we could be there in person to hear this one. A video will have to suffice, however. Check it out for yourself right down below.
