From complete vehicle conversions, engine rebuilds, and even smaller pieces with which to finish personal builds, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE) has a little bit of everything for those looking to increase the performance of their vehicle. Its latest offering is a forged 4.070-inch piston and ring set for GM’s LSA, LS3 and LS9 Small-Block V8 engines designed to deliver greater strength than the cast OEM LSA pistons.
Specifically, the forged piston and ring set is designed for the following models:
- 2009-2014 Cadillac CTS-V
- 2012-2014 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
- Chevrolet Performance Parts/GMPP LSA crate engines
Engineered using the OEM CAD models to clear the OEM piston cooling oil jets and crankshaft reluctor wheel of the LSA engine, the Lingenfelter LSA piston and ring kit will also work alongside Lingenfelter’s various supercharger upgrades. The kit maintains the OEM LSA compression ratio while featuring a 0.010-inch overbore forged piston, allowing for bore cleanup on a used block while leaving room for further overbore should repairs or service be needed.
Other features of the kit include:
- Total Seal rings with a stainless CrN face top ring
- Ductile iron Napier 2nd ring and three-piece stainless steel flex-bent design oil ring
- Designed for use with most 6.125-inch aftermarket connecting rods
Considering the greater strength and OEM compression provided by Lingenfelter’s LSA piston and ring set, we think it would make a great addition to the already-potent and powerful LSA V8 engine.
Those looking to buy the kit (Lingenfelter part number L290016509) should be ready to drop $1,295, which is the listed price at time of publication.

Regarding the Lsa Engine Piston and Ring set .
Could you tell me the wrist pin diameter?
Is there only 1 option with the wrist pin diameter? I was hoping to use the OE Lsa rods.
