While it was always expected the Adam would be the next Opel model to arrive in South Africa, the automaker officially announced the plans in December of last year. They said it would “shake up the market,” when it landed in the country, and we’re about to find out if they were right, as the first Adam buyers have taken possesion of their cars.
Cara Labuschagne left Williams Hunt Opel in Port Elizabeth with a smile on her face and the keys to her new Adam in her hands after signing up to buy the hatchback following a demo drive last year. She was one of the first Adam buyers in South Africa, and took delivery of her car last Friday. Opel says she’s no stranger to the Opel brand, having previously owned a Corsa, and is “looking forward to experiencing” the “stylish new supermini.”
The entire Adam model range, save for the hot Adam S, is available in South Africa starting from R200,000 ($17,323 USD) up to R250 000 ($21,654).
