Chevrolet Dealer In Cincinnati Gets Carried Away With Renovations

Much like any other franchise operation, car dealerships are representative of the brand in which they deal. So, it’s an established fact that in order to continue representing a given marque, dealers often have to renovate and revamp their stores in accordance with quality guidelines set forth by the manufacturer.

But of course, one can go above and beyond, if one so chooses.

Take, for instance, McCluskey Chevrolet in Cincinnati, Ohio, which spent a jaw-dropping $7 million on renovations and upgrades to create an immaculate, enticing customer experience. Automotive News profiled the 48,000 square-foot dealership, which features everything from a $10,000 black leather massage chair, to a 12-foot long Stingray sculpture which hangs from the ceiling outside the Corvette conference room.

The certifiably insane level of above-and-beyond amenities and upgrades to McCluskey Chevrolet were driven largely by competition. The dealership is one of 20 high-volume car sales facilities in the “Kings Automall” area of Cincinnati, so the local rivalry between dealers is fierce. But beyond that, Keith McCluskey has ambitions of turning his own dealership into one of the highest-volume Chevrolet dealers in the country.

So, McCluskey knows the importance of wooing and pampering customers. There are 40 sleek, inviting salesrep workstations in the dealership, instead of the typical, secluded offices. A frosted-glass staircase leads up one level to four customer lounge areas, each with its own 90-inch flat-screen TV, and sleek bamboo ceiling tiles. The dealership features complimentary Coke and Starbucks beverage machines, 165 Bose speakers, 267 framed photos (mostly showing classic, historical Chevys), and imported Italian bicycles so that service center customers can go for a ride while their cars are being serviced.

Oh, and on that note, McCluskey Chevrolet is open until 3 am, so that they can provide oil changes and other services into the wee hours of the morning.

McCluskey Chevrolet in Cincinnati provides a ridiculously high benchmark for other Chevy dealers to live up to, though it’s quite all right if no other Chevrolet dealer can hit that mark; as dealerships go, it’s rather one-of-a-kind.
