Hennessey put out this video to advertise just how much faster a Corvette C7 Stingray will scoot with the firm’s own HPE700 supercharger/tuning package. Or maybe just to rub it in.
The video shows a stock white Corvette C7 in the quarter-mile against a yellow example with Hennessey’s performance package. Right off the line, the stock ‘Vette actually pulls ahead by a sliver, likely due to the omission of a supercharger pulley like the Hennessey Stingray has to spin.
But after they both get rolling, it’s all over for the stock C7.
The HPE700 package for the Corvette C7 brings the power up to a whopping 708 HP, thanks to a 2.3 liter supercharger, high-flow heads, a revised camshaft profile, and Hennessey engine management calibration. Compare to 455 HP from the stock powerplant.
The result is a crushing defeat for the stock Corvette C7 on the dragstrip. Hennessey claims that by the checkered flag, the gap has increased to about 10 car lengths.
