Opel Teases New Vehicle Ahead Of 2014 Moscow Motor Show

Despite historically not getting along, Germany and Russia will come together in the automotive realm for the unveiling of a new Opel model during the 2014 Moscow Motor Show that will begin at the end of the month. The vehicle, under the veil above, was teased by Opel Russia’s Twitter page today.

Although the backside of the car in the teaser appears to resemble that of a sedan or coupe, some speculate that the new vehicle will be the first look at the new Monza crossover SUV. Even so, we suspect this new vehicle is something different entirely, and it could always simply be a concept. But sometimes, we like to be surprised.

If you’d like to take a stab at what it could be, go for it in the comments section below.

  1. Retro-styled Opel Manta concept that’s just a concept without even a hope of production.

  6. Just looking at the proportions, it can only be one thing: a RWD coupe. Hopefully Gothzilla’s wishes are fulfilled and it’s indeed a Manta concept. I always loved the proportions and elegant aggressiveness of the first gen cars. Whatever is under the cover in the pic seems to emulate the aura of the Manta – if not the daintiness.

Possibly on the new Alpha platform (ie Camaro related)?

  7. A replacement for the much missed Omega i hope but it does look more like a Coupe. RWD i hope as well as hoping it makes it into Vauxhalls lineup too.

  10. It will be a car only for Russia as German news tell.
So I suppose maybe a facelift of the old Astra H which is still built in Russia.

  13. I read that the car underneath the yellow cover is not the surprise for the Russian market which Opel wants to show at the Moscow motor show, and that the car being presented will not be of interest to the West European market.

So I thought that it would be the first Opel Corsa produced in Minsk, the capital city of Belarus for the CIS countries.
