It’s rare to find an 81-year-old who speeds yet alone breaks 100 mph, but at this year’s Sun Valley Road Rally in Idaho one 81-year-old grandmother took advantage of the rally’s “no speed limit” zone by taking her 2000 Chevrolet Corvette to 166.3 mph.
With 345 horsepower on tap from its LS1 V8 engine, the C5 was reportedly able to break 170 mph from the factory, meaning this grandmother was holding back a little during her run. But we don’t want to come off like we’re belittling her efforts, because 166.3 mph is faster than most people ever drive a car – young or old.

This is why I love the U.S. I would never see a grandma do something like this in Canada…
Awesome!
I am the 81 year old Great- Grandmother who drove the C-5 Vette. I had my foot on the floor and 166.3 was all she’d do that day, but I did have the A/C running and a 255 pound friend in the car! For more pictures and comments please go to gogrannygo corvette at facebook!
