Earlier this month, we saw a video of Dirt Everyday host Fred Williams prepping a 1993 Chevrolet S-10 pickup for the show’s Cheap Truck Challenge. Williams spent just $1,400 on the S10 and sunk some additional money into it trying to make it off-road capable. Now it’s time to see if it worked.
For their Cheap Truck Challenge, Dirt Everyday scales a difficult obstacle course, does donuts, rock climbs and of course, does the obligatory drag race. Williams’ S-10, which has a 4.3-liter V6 under its hood, is stacked up against a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 and a 1975 International 150 pickup with a Chevrolet 350 V8 swapped in it. That’s stiff competition for a 23-year old Chevy pickup that’s only firing on two cylinders and only has two-wheel drive.
Check out the video below to see who wins this battle of the cheap and tough beaters. No matter who wins, the point here is that you can have a load of fun off-roading for less than $4,000. We might have to go start looking for cheap S10s on eBay now.
