The C6 Corvette made its mark when it sold in the U.S. from 2005 to 2013 and dusted many supercars with its quarter mile time in the mid 12-second range. Without any exterior markings and a keen eye, it’s hard to say what type of LS motor a particular C6 may have, but it has the potency to put down upwards of 430 horsepower (hp) in stock form with an LS3 engine. But even though it was a performance Samson to the Goliaths that were Ferrari and Porsche, the C6 was flawed from an otherwise coarse interior and overly conservative exterior looks.
The newest generation of Corvette, the C7, has been hailed as the performance bargain of the ages and has left the automotive world, and is widely regarded as a complete package thanks to its rakish exterior and its world-class interior. The 2014 Corvette also benefits from the power gain of 455 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque in bare-bones form, as the new LT1 engine carries the torch passed on by the LS engine family. In stock form, the C7 can blitz the quarter mile in the low 12-second range.
But none of that matters here, as the cars in the video are heavily modified and both post quarter mile times of approximately 10 seconds. So it goes without saying that the video is definitely worth two minutes of your time and the victor may just surprise you.
