2014 Corvette Stingray Hits The Nurburgring: Video

We can all agree that the onboard video of the Camaro Z/28 setting an impressive 7:37 lap time around Germany’s infamous and demanding Nurburgring is a thrill to watch. We have yet to the see 2014 Corvette Stingray perform the same feat, but thanks to an onboard video posted by YouTube user Automotive Mike, we now know that Chevy has been hard at work pounding America’s sports car around The Green Hell.

The videographer claims the Corvette is from Chevrolet and was at the ‘Ring for the Gran Turismo track day event. The driver allowed him to stick his GoPro on the dash before he set out on his tour of the 12.8 mile circuit. Unfortunately, this isn’t a lap where the driver is on the ragged edge the entire time like the Z28’s lap was, a point which is evidenced by the Mini Cooper that makes him look like he is standing still at the 2:50 mark. The driver is instead gingerly driving the car around the track, which makes sense, seeing as this is the only Corvette Stingray in Europe and not a closed session, so driving as aggressively as possible could prove to be dangerous.

We’re still waiting on the official ‘Ring video from Chevrolet, but for now, this unofficial onboard video will have to do. Maybe Chevy won’t bother releasing a lap time for the standard ‘Vette and is instead saving its time and energy for when the 2015 Corvette Z06, a.ka. The Big Nasty, is ready to make the trek over to Germany. That is something we’re really looking forward to.

There are plenty of C7 Stingrays in Europe. Probably hundreds or maybe thousands. There are 20 for sale just now in Sweden alone.
