Back in January, General Motors’ new executive team — including recently-appointed CEO Mary Barra and President Dan Ammann — visited its Germany-based subsidiary, Opel. The visit marked the first trip abroad for The General’s new supervisory team, and Opel’s Neumann as well as GM’s Barra and Ammann hosted a press conference where they “reinforced GM’s commitment to Opel” as well as secured an additional model for its Rüsselsheim plant.
“General Motors and Opel are working more closely together than ever before, and we are very proud of our common corporate history”, said Opel chief KT Neumann, adding that “Opel enjoys the full support of GM and the the way around. You can absolutely rely on Opel. So, in other words, Opel is very proud to be part of the GM family.”
The trio toured the assembly plant and visited the International Technical Development Center (ITDC), and Ammann was nominated to succeed Steve Girsky as chairman of the Opel Supervisory Board.

Couldn’t visit Holden oh I don’t know maybe in December 2013?
When Holden sells a million units a year Mary will be on the next flight out of Detroit metro…
Easily could have if they were allowed to export more! Opel don’t have a large car and the Commodore is way better than the medium sized Insignia. Holden’s work on the MY15 Cruze had journalists rating it as being better than the Astra (and Chevy Cruze, Volt).
