As part of the previously announced agreement between GM-Opel and PSA Peugeot Citroën, the two entities have confirmed that they will build an all-new subcompact, B-segment MPV at the Opel facility in Zaragoza, Spain.
The vehicle will utilize a PSA Peugeot Citroën platform, and is one of the three projects that were agreed upon and signed by both partners in December 2012. However, it will be the Opel engineering team in Ruesselsheim that will lead the engineering of the joint project, despite PSA Peugeot Citroën supplying the powertrains for all applications. The first vehicles are expected to launch in late 2016.
Opel recently announced that it will add Mokka production in Zaragoza beginning 2014, with a €200 million retooling commitment.
