Buick Regal To Debut At Auto Shanghai In China

Yesterday, Buick shared the 2018 Buick Regal Sportback and Regal TourX wagon with the North American world, but the brand is gearing up to show the vehicle off to its most important market: China. And the teaser image above has us yearning for whatever particular paint hue is shown.

The brand announced the all-new Buick Regal will be shown at Auto Shanghai on April 19 and it’s an important place for the Regal. Since the nameplate’s introduction in 2002, the Regal has found enormous success in China, selling 71,000 units last year alone.

Unlike North America, China will be graced with a traditional sedan variant. Buick dropped the sedan in favor of a five-door liftback design to compliment the five-door wagon in North America, mimicking the Opel Insignia Grand Sport and Country Tourer.

We’ll know more about how the Chinese market Regal differs from its North American counterpart in a few short weeks. However, previous leaks showed the Chinese Regal sedan in base specification months ago, offering a look at what to expect.
