An American staple is heading to The People’s Republic. Chevrolet has announced the sixth-generation Camaro will arrive in China will a price tag of RMB 399,900.
For those of us who don’t speak Yuan, that’s $58,102 USD. So, yes, the Camaro will certainly be an expensive piece of machinery in the country. China will receive the exact same vehicle we know and love here in the United States, but will a catch.
Chevrolet will only offer the Camaro with the 2.0-liter LTG turbocharged four-cylinder engine, and it will be paired exclusively to the eight-speed automatic transmission. We’d venture to guess the idea of importing the big, bad 6.2-liter LT1 V8-powered Camaro doesn’t make much sense.
The sixth-gen Camaro is one of 20 new or refreshed products Chevrolet will launch in China by the year 2020, and the Camaro will go on sale later this year.

Dammmn GM! Nice way to dilute a performance coupe – put an inline 4T in it. Sad, just sad.
