2016-2017 Buick Envision Recalled Over Inaccurate Tire And Loading Info Label

General Motors is recalling the Buick Envision compact luxury crossover over incorrect weight information provided in the Tire and Loading Information label.

To note, GM currently builds the Buick Envision at a plant in China and imports it into the United States.

The defect: the Tire and Loading Information label may display the incorrect maximum weight information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”

The hazards: incorrect weight information may cause an owner to overload the vehicle. Overloading may reduce vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Affected vehicles: 2016-2017 Buick Envision manufactured February 4, 2016 to April 25, 2016.

Number of vehicles affected: 4,558 (United States figure)

The fix: GM will notify owners and dealers will install a corrected label as necessary, free of charge.

Owners should: customers looking to find out if their vehicle is included in this Buick Envision recall should visit recalls.gm.com. There, owners will be able to enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to see any open recalls as well as customer satisfaction programs. If the vehicle is part of the recall, customers should take it to a Buick dealer.
