  1. But we were told the marketing program was highly effective with consumers …

    1. Which looks to be confirmed by this data, since retail sales are up.

The overall decrease is from the drop in fleet sales.

  2. Right, I saw that – but even if Flatt sales are down 2.28%, and subtract that from the red numbers, (an inexact science, I know), they’re still pretty red. I would guess Buick would be happy to get their hands on more Envisions. Oh well – time will tell – Encore’s still selling, new LaCrosse and Verano’s going away.

    1. *sorry, make that ‘fleet’ sales. My spell check must be a fan of Flatt & Scruggs.

  3. The sales results are directly related to their product line up, similar to Cadillac. Buick is really sedan focused. Their crossovers (except for Enclave that is very long in the tooth) are doing well but sedans are not.
That is a market thing as so many people are opting for crossovers/SUV’s.

    It will get better.

  4. I wonder why the Enclave sales are not-so-pretty?

If you’ve driven one, and want a bigger SUV, they’re really nice.

So – cannibalized by Encore? Trading up to Escalade or Yukon? Price point problem?
    Brand-swapping? To a lesser extent, Acadia’s off a bit, too. It’s a puzzler.

    1. Long in the tooth?

  5. Ya, that’s the other option I was thinking. They updated the Acadia – not sure if it’s out there in force yet.

  6. they need to outnumber there sedans with utility vehicles.

    Reply
    1. Incorrect. What they need to is make a crossover variant of each sedan range. Have a look at BMW and Mercedes-Benz for examples.
