1969 427 Yenko Chevelle Shown Off By The Lingenfelter Collection: Video

There are those select few cars that’ll grab anyone’s attention, car enthusiast or not, and that’s because they’re special. An example of such a car would be this 1969 Yenko Chevelle from the Lingenfelter Collection.

Powered by Chevy 427 V8 rated at 425 horsepower, this muscle car delivered remarkable performance for its time that is still impressive even today. The Yenko Super Car branding is an iconic mark thanks to the work of Don Yenko, whose company did builds very similar to what companies like Lingenfelter and Callaway do – transform Chevrolet vehicles straight from the factory into mean machines. Actually, the 3-minute video gives an informative history lesson to those who aren’t as familiar with the Yenko branding, and explains how Yenko made its way to the production line.

The video also gives some descriptive on the origin of this particular Yenko Chevelle, including the fact that the order was placed on March 9, 1969, and that the car was shipped from the assembly plant on July 26, 1969. The Chevelle was then delivered to Grossman Chevrolet dealership on September 17, 1969.

We know you’re going to like what you see here – a genuine icon in impeccable condition.

  2. Oh man, thanks for that – the badging threw me off. I’m looking at the 0:56 frame and kicking myself for thinking the super-charged badge at 0:13 belongs to the Chevelle. Thanks again for pointing it out.
