Well, we can’t say this is the strangest thing we’ve come across. But, it’s up there. This was once an early-1990s GMC Jimmy SUV. When Mark Ray’s wife, owner of the boat car, was diagnosed with breast cancer, she presented a challenge to him.
According to Ray, she came into the bedroom one day and simply presented the challenge saying, “I bet you can’t build a boat car.” With no idea what she was talking about, Ray researched a boat car, and almost immediately went to work on one.
Ray chopped up the GMC Jimmy and fashioned all-new bodywork, added bits to make it street legal, such as head and tail lights, indicators and a horn. The original 4.6-liter V6 remains to scurry the landlubber around town, and it makes waves wherever Ray parks it. Also true to the original GMC Jimmy is the chassis, and interior. Everything else was ditched, and a sunken Sea Ray Bow Rider served as the donor boat for the build.
It seems like the most impractical way to spend $10,000, but all that matters to Ray is it makes his wife smile. You can have a closer look at this contraption right down below.

Hmm…I never heard of a 4.6L in a early 90’s GMC Jimmy. I think it should say 4.3L.
