While we continue rummaging for parts to build our time machine, in an effort to travel back and experience these cars first hand, we’ll have to sit down and live vicariously through Hagerty and Austin, Texas collector Jeff Mosing.
Mosing is the owner of this 1973 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, featuring a 455 big-block V8 and an automatic transmission. Done up from the factory in Brewster Green, a rare hue, Mosing says the car is often mistaken for black, and is asked why there’s a light-green screaming chicken on the hood.
Speaking of grabbing attention from bystanders, he gets that a lot when putzing around town in his 1973 Trans Am. To paraphrase a few of Mosing’s words, if a car has the ability to change the mood of strangers for the positive, it’s a good car.
Mosing says he always had the itch to be a gearhead, stemming from wanting to help his brother install headers on his car years ago. He always had that personal connection.
We can relate.
