Vauxhall Gets Unique, Hires Contemporary Artist Josh Stika To Build Awareness Of Adam

Those who have had the chance to watch Exit Through the Gift Shop – a movie about the bizarre world of graffiti and the artists within it – have a pretty good understand of the mind-boggling medium that is street art.

In the past decade or so, the art medium has morphed from lowbrow graffiti to a widely accepted and highly championed cultural medium. From the 2006 PlayStation 2 game Marc Ecko’s Getting Up to President Obama’s infamous HOPE poster, which was designed by street artist Shepard Fairey, the medium has extended its tendrils well beyond the the streets.

And now, Vauxhall — GM’s U.K.-based subsidiary — has decided to use street art to build awareness of the Adam city car, with contemporary British artist Josh Stika being tasked to convey the wide array of customization options for the 2015 Opel Adam family.

The makings of the mural makes for a very neat time-lapse video we’d love to hear your thoughts.

A far-too-tall Ontarian who likes to focus on the business end of the auto industry, in part because he's too tall to safely swap cogs in a Corvette Stingray.
