Customers who might find the rugged off road styling, useful underbody guards and protective wheel arch and lower body cladding of Opel’s Insignia Country Tourer appealing may now order the go-almost-anywhere station wagon with a front-wheel drive layout.
Previously only offered in all-wheel drive formats, the Insignia Country Tourer will start at €34,100 in Belgium for front-wheel drive variants, €3000 less than with the 4×4 system.
The midsize wagon is available to order with Opel’s new Ecotec 1.6 liter, 170 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder or with a 2.0 liter, 163 horsepower diesel. When paired with the CDTI diesel engine and six-speed manual transmission, the front-wheel drive Country Tourer consumes 20 percent less fuel than the comparable all-wheel drive model.
