Ryan Vaughn, Design Manager for Performance Car Interiors, states that it’s all thinking about how cars work with when regarding the 2015 Corvette Z06, which he is sitting in the video below.
Before you fall in love with the car’s looks, Vaughn notes, you need to get the technology and interface correct. Creating a beautiful design around that will come with time.
An 8-inch reconfigurable screen and a heads-up display will help you make vehicle function decisions while still looking straight ahead on the road. The 8-inch touchscreen that drops down to reveal a storage space behind it with a USB connection will allow you to hook up your phone, and make you realize it’s not even there, according to Vaughn.
The Performance Data Recorder is actually a camera, recording device and data telemetry system that captures all the data the car has got being monitored by the computers. The apps shop is similar to the type of ones you will find in iPhones, Droids or tablets where you can go in and shop for different programs to use while on the drive in your car, Vaughn said.
Vaughn believes that Chevrolet has really started embracing the technology that is within the home already, and feels that the car needs to be an extension of that.
